The successful candidate for this role will play a key part in supporting the progress and attainment of pupils, working closely with teachers to help create an engaging, inclusive and nurturing learning environment. We are looking for someone who demonstrates enthusiasm, adaptability and a strong ability to engage learners, alongside a commitment to high expectations and inspiring all pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the teacher in creating and maintaining a stimulating, safe and purposeful learning environment, ensuring resources are prepared and used effectively.
- Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups or whole classes under the guidance of the teacher.
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS curriculum.
- Observe, assess and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher to inform next steps in learning.
- Provide clear feedback to pupils to support their development and understanding.
- Assist in the implementation of targeted interventions to support pupil progress, including working with pupils with SEND and additional needs.
- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policy, helping to create a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of pupils, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to support learning, development and inclusion.
- Contribute to the preparation and organisation of classroom activities, displays and learning resources.
- Maintain accurate records where required, in line with school policies.
- Support communication with parents and carers where appropriate.
- Contribute to wider school life, including school events, meetings and training.
- Adhere to all school policies, particularly those relating to safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion.
