Purchase Ledger Assistant

Location: Aston, Birmingham

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Salary Β£14 - 15 - Hour

We are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a well-established business based in Aston on a temp - perm basis for the right person. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous accounts payable experience who is looking to join a supportive finance team and work with a modern ERP system, including NetSuite.

The Role

As part of the finance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring supplier invoices and payments are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices using NetSuite.
  • Matching, coding and posting invoices accurately.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs.
  • Allocating payments and maintaining accurate supplier accounts.
  • Posting bank transactions and assisting with account reconciliations.
  • Responding to supplier and internal queries in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with month-end processes and producing reports when required.
  • Supporting the finance team with continuous improvements to purchase ledger procedures.

About You

  • Previous experience within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role.
  • Experience using NetSuite would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
  • Able to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive team player with strong communication skills.
