About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with deep expertise in F5 BIG-IP technologies to lead the design, delivery, and support of critical network and application delivery services. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with mentoring, project ownership, and stakeholder engagement. You will act as a senior technical authority, guiding F5 deployments and migrations while supporting and developing junior engineers within a complex, multi-tenant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, upgrade, and migration of F5 BIG-IP platforms, including LTM and GTM/DNS
- Provide expert-level (3rd line) support for F5 systems, resolving complex incidents and proactively preventing issues
- Own and drive technical projects end-to-end, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders to meet delivery milestones
- Maintain high-quality technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures
- Delegate tasks across multiple workstreams, tracking progress and ensuring successful outcomes
- Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights
Key Skills & Experience
- Advanced, hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM and GTM/DNS)
- Proven experience leading F5-focused technical projects (deployments, upgrades, migrations)
- Strong troubleshooting and optimisation skills in enterprise-scale environments
- Experience working with multi-tenant and virtualised platforms, including VIPRION and/or rSeries
- Good general networking knowledge, including routing and switching
- Working experience with ACI and Fortigate Firewalls
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with F5 HSM/FIPS
- F5 Certifications (eg F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator or Solution Expert)
- Additional networking or security certifications
