In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Arista-based network solutions for a wide range of enterprise clients. This is a technically hands-on role that demands deep subject matter expertise in Arista technologies, a consultative mindset, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
You’ll work closely with account managers, project managers, and client stakeholders to deliver robust, secure, and scalable network infrastructures. This role operates within a dynamic Value-Added Reseller (VAR) environment and requires someone who can thrive in both customer-facing and delivery-focused scenarios.
Key Responsibilities- Network Design & Architecture
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure network infrastructures using Arista technologies.
- Translate business requirements into effective technical architectures.
- Produce high- and low-level design documentation, including detailed diagrams and config templates.
- Support pre-sales efforts through technical input, architecture planning, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
- Tailor Arista deployments to meet customer-specific data center and enterprise networking needs.
- Deployment & Configuration
- Deploy and configure Arista switches, routers, and CloudVision Portal (CVP) solutions.
- Perform network migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure integrations.
- Conduct site surveys, network health checks, and validation testing post-deployment.
- Troubleshoot advanced Layer 2/3 protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- Integrate Arista EOS with third-party tools and automation platforms (Python, Ansible, CloudVision).
- Deliver thorough handover documentation, configuration guides, and support artifacts.
- Provide Tier 3 support and engage with Arista TAC as needed.
- Automation & Scripting
- Build and maintain scripts using Python, Ansible, or similar tools for configuration and deployment automation.
- Leverage Arista’s eAPI and CloudVision APIs for telemetry, monitoring, and state-driven management.
- Assist with integrating network infrastructure into DevOps pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Travel & Office Expectations
- This role requires travel throughout the EMEA region on a project-dependent basis. Travel frequency can vary—some periods may involve several consecutive weeks of on-site engagement, followed by months with minimal to no travel.
- The role is officially based out of the Greenford office. However, in practice, it is a hybrid role. On average, team members are in the office approximately 25% of the time, though this can vary depending on project requirements and customer engagements.
- Minimum: Arista Certified Engineering Expert (ACE) Level 2, with demonstrable progress toward Level 3 or equivalent knowledge.
- 5+ years of overall network engineering experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to Arista environments.
- Advanced understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols, including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- In-depth experience with Arista EOS, CloudVision Portal, and eAPI.
- Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and RESTful API integration.
- Experience designing and implementing data center and campus networks.
- Prior experience in a VAR, MSP, or consulting environment.
- Familiarity with multi-vendor networks (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Strong routing and switching skills
- Deep knowledge of EVPN and VXLAN technologies
- Wireless networking experience – desirable but not mandatory
- Customer Orientation – Ability to build trust and foster long-term client relationships.
