We are supporting a large enterprise organisation with the appointment of several experienced Firewall Engineers to join a major network transformation programme. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong Fortinet expertise to work on firewall migrations, upgrades and deployment projects within a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure and deploy Fortinet and Cisco Firepower firewall solutions, with a primary focus on Fortinet.
- Deliver firewall hardware migrations, including migrations between Fortinet platforms and Cisco Firepower to Fortinet.
- Perform firewall OS upgrades and support implementation activities.
- Produce and review High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
- Troubleshoot and resolve live network and firewall issues.
- Support project delivery through change management processes, including:
- Raising Change Requests
- Preparing pre-checks and implementation plans
- Completing post-implementation validation
- Assessing service impact
- Attending CAB meetings where required
- Work closely with infrastructure, networking and project teams to deliver successful implementations.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet Firewalls, ideally including the 1600D, 1800F, 3400E and 4200F platforms.
- Experience with Cisco Firepower, ideally including the Cisco 4110 platform.
- Experience using FortiManager.
- Experience using FortiConverter.
- Proven experience delivering firewall hardware migrations and OS upgrades.
- Experience creating High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
- Strong troubleshooting skills within live production environments.
- Experience working within formal Change Management processes, including CAB.
Desirable
- CCNP-level knowledge of routing and switching.
- Previous experience working within large enterprise or regulated environments.
