We build and operate large-scale GPU compute infrastructure designed to power AI workloads, working in partnership with leading institutional capital providers and lenders. As a capital-intensive business scaling at pace, strong financial governance, disciplined cash management, and operational excellence are not optional – they are foundational to success. This is a rare opportunity to join a company vertically integrating power, data centres, and compute at hyperscale – helping build the financial backbone of a business defining an entirely new industrial category.
About the Role
We are looking for a hands‑on General Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an ideal role for an ambitious early‑career accountant – part‑qualified or actively studying – who wants real ownership, real exposure, and a steep growth curve in a fast‑scaling business. Working closely with the VP of Accounting and our Financial Accountant, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the finance function, contribute to a clean and timely monthly close, and play a hands‑on role in building processes that will scale with the business. This is not a back‑office role. You will be in the room as we build the finance function from first principles – and the work you do will directly shape how we operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Month‑End Close Support
- Support the execution of the monthly financial close under the direction of the Financial Accountant
- Prepare standard journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and recurring entries
- Assist with payroll, intercompany, and FX postings
- Maintain a clean, well‑documented audit trail across all postings
- Reconciliations & Ledger Hygiene
- Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for review (cash, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, other payables and receivables)
- Prepare roll‑forwards of key reporting lines
- Investigate and clear aged or unreconciled items in the general ledger
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure consistent coding across the business
- Transactional & Operational Support
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including approvals and audit trail
- Support the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation runs
- Assist with VAT returns and other routine compliance filings
- Support cash management activities including daily cash positioning and payment runs
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packs and variance commentary
- Support external audit by preparing schedules, samples, and supporting documentation
- Contribute to process improvements, automation, and ERP optimisation as the finance function scales
- Help document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Requirements
- Part‑qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- 1–3 years of accounting experience in industry or practice
- Solid understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping and core accounting concepts
- Experience with month‑end close activities (journals, accruals, reconciliations)
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud ERPs (NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct)
- Exposure to multi‑entity or multi‑currency accounting
- Experience in a high‑growth, startup, or scale‑up environment
- Exposure to infrastructure, energy, construction, or other asset‑heavy businesses
- Some exposure to IFRS
What Makes This Role Different
- Build, not maintain: Help create processes and controls from scratch as the finance function scales
- Accelerated learning: Direct mentorship from a qualified Financial Accountant and the VP of Accounting
- Real exposure: Work on transactions and processes that, in most companies, junior accountants never get near
- Career runway: Clear path to qualification and progression as the team grows around you
- Low bureaucracy: Fast decision‑making, clear accountability, and a team that gets things done
