Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate and compliant vehicle damage repair assessments and estimates across all vehicle makes and types using manufacturers' and Thatcham research-approved repair methods.
- Manage, process and authorise vehicle damage assessments in a timely manner, demonstrating full compliance with industry damage assessment systems (Audatex) and best practice standards.
- Accurately assess and value vehicles beyond economical repair to industry and AQP standards, utilising industry guides and tools.
- Negotiate and resolve disputes with customers and vehicle damage repairers.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, claims teams and repair management teams, providing support on vehicle repair and total loss engineering referrals.
- Provide technical analytics services including audits, third-party cost reviews, fraud and compliance assessments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of FSA, ABI and FOS regulations and standards for motor claims processing.
- Resolve technical motor engineering problems and support team members through training and guidance.
- Communicate effectively at all levels and develop strong stakeholder relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor quality assurance standards and compliance requirements, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Meet engineering task processing requirements to achieve business KPIs and targets.
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in motor engineering, damage assessment, or claims handling.
- Professional qualification in motor damage assessment (IAEA, ATA VDA, or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Motor repair industry qualification (IMI, ATA, NVQ, or City and Guilds).
- Proficient knowledge of vehicle accident repair industry standards and best practices.
- Demonstrable experience with Audatex or similar damage assessment systems.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with proven dispute resolution experience.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
- Solid understanding of the motor insurance industry, including FSA, ABI, and FOS regulations.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in quality assurance, compliance monitoring, audit functions, technical analytics, or fraud assessment.
- Proven experience in team leadership, mentoring, or training delivery.
- Familiarity with industry valuation guides and total loss engineering principles.
