Mechanical Project Manager – Cat A & Cat B Fit-Outs (London)

Job Summary
We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to deliver both Cat A and Cat B mechanical packages on prime commercial office projects across Central London.

You will run fast-paced, high-quality Mechanical installations for leading developers, occupiers and main contractors, managing projects from £3m to £25m in mechanical value. The role offers variety – one day you could be handing over a new core for a trophy tower, the next delivering a cutting-edge Cat B workplace for a global brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to handover and aftercare.
• Produce and manage project programmes using Primavera P6 (or Asta if preferred).
• Lead mechanical delivery on both Cat A (HVAC, risers, plantrooms, LTHW, public health) and Cat B (VRF/VRV, comfort cooling, BMS upgrades, lighting control, tenant modifications).
• Work closely with developers, tenants, architects, main contractors and specialist sub-contractors.
• Oversee procurement, tendering and appointment of mechanical subcontractors.
• Coordinate with the wider project team to resolve design and site issues quickly.
• Drive progress on site, chair mechanical meetings and report clearly to senior management and clients.
• Ensure full compliance with building regulations, BREEAM, London Plan, Part L and CDM requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven background delivering mechanical packages on London commercial office fit-outs (Cat A, Cat B or both).
• Strong project management and leadership skills – able to run multiple projects at once.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills – you will deal directly with developers, occupiers and design teams.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems typically used in London office projects.
• Organised, calm under pressure and focused on delivering on time and to budget.
