We are looking for an energetic, passionate MARKETING & EVENTS ASSISTANT to work on our ACTIVE events portfolio.
The role will be focused on assisting with the marketing, communications, and operations of our owned Active events. These comprise of Run Cheltenham, The Great West Run, the Weston Super Half, and Monster Triathlon.
Although our owned events will be the main focus, the chosen candidate will be given a fantastic taste of all agency life and will be exposed to client servicing projects, both in the lead up to and on live delivery. You’ll get hands on experience in all areas and it is the perfect place to gain skills and exposure in the mass participation events world.
Ideally you’ll have a passion for sports events, be a highly motivated, organised and focussed individual, as well as having the ability to consider both the details and bigger picture.
You will support the senior team and be given the opportunity to own your own areas of our events, working with suppliers, partners and sponsors to maximise event engagement and success.
The Role
• Working with the Marketing Manager to deliver communication plans to participants and potential participants • Engaging with participants and potential participants across social channels
• Helping to create organic content to add to these channels and campaigns
• Managing CRM (monitoring and responding to events email accounts)
• Assisting in updating weekly sales tracking reports
• Creating and fostering relationships with local stakeholders (business, clubs, schools, volunteers)
• Helping to oversee on-site event management during live events
• Assisting with operational planning of events
The Person
• A passion and interest in mass participation sporting events, ideally for running
• A desire to gain experience within event production
• Enjoy working with people and a head for providing first class customer service
• An interest in marketing and how best to communicate with different audience
• A creative approach and ability to generate new and unique ideas
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently
• A strong team player, helpful, conscientious and collaborative.
• A fun and positive attitude.
Skills:
• Exceptional organisational skills and focus, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects
• Working knowledge and sound understanding of scheduling in Meta Business suite and using Facebook Planner
• Excellent copywriting skills and attention to detail
• Experience of working with email marketing platforms, such as Mailerlite
• Experience of using Canva to create social media assets ideal but not essential
• Experience of updating websites in Wordpress. Elementor desirable but not essential
• Experience of dealing with customers
• Able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines.
THE PACKAGE
SALARY: £24k – £26k depending on experience
DURATION: Preference of Full time. Open to 3-4 days a week.
HOLIDAY: Pro Rata based on 25 days PA
FLEXIBLE HOURS & WORKING: Flexibility for early or late starts and remote working
LOCATION: Hybrid working – currently 3/4 days per week in our office in Fulham Broadway
