Hanley Castle High School is looking to appoint a highly organised and proactive individual to work collaboratively in a job share role, sharing responsibility for leading and developing the administration of the SEN team. Our SEN Administrators (2 roles) support the SEND department in all aspects of the team’s functions, including coordinating the Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) review process and ensuring all associated tasks are completed to a high standard and within statutory deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • First‑line triage for SEND communications across multiple channels
  • Managing communications with families, professionals and local authorities
  • Production and management of documentation and records, maintaining accurate records and cost‑mapping
  • Typing reports and correspondence
  • Coordinating diary and logistics
  • Supporting the SENCO/Deputy SENCO with administrative duties
  • Coordinating the EHCP review process and ensuring tasks meet statutory deadlines

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent administrative and ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage workload independently and work effectively under pressure
  • Experience working with young people, especially those with challenging behaviour or social and emotional needs
  • Good understanding of the education system
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability

Working Hours and Salary:

14 hours and 30 minutes per week, 8:30am – 4:15pm Monday – Tuesday (includes a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break). Term‑time only plus a proportion of 8 Professional Development Days. Salary: Scale 4, SCP 7–11 (dependent on skills and experience) → £26,403 – £28,142 FTE. £8,888 – £9,473 actual salary (pro‑rata).

Start date: As soon as possible.
