We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and proactive individual to lead and develop the administration for the SEN team at Hanley Castle High School. The role supports the SEND department in coordinating the Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) review process and ensuring that all associated tasks are completed to a high standard and within statutory deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Support the SEN team with the EHCP review process.
- Perform first‑line triage for SEND communications across multiple channels.
- Manage communication with families, professionals and local authorities.
- Produce and manage documentation, records, cost‑mapping and correspondence.
- Coordinate diary and logistics and support the SENCO/Deputy SENCO with administrative duties.
Qualifications:
- Excellent administrative and ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage workload independently and work effectively under pressure.
- Experience working with young people, particularly those who may display challenging behaviour or have social and emotional needs.
- Good understanding of the education system.
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability.
Working Hours:
37 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4.30pm; Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm, including a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break). Term‑time only plus 8 Professional Development Days.
Salary:
Scale 4, SCP 7–11 (dependent on skills and experience) – £26,403 – £28,142 FTE or £22,680 – £24,173 actual salary (pro‑rata).
