Role Purpose

To support Worcestershire County Council Education Adviser (Safeguarding) and offer a high-quality training and sustainable system for safeguarding Children and Young People attending Worcestershire Schools.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the standards as set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children on inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children are adhered to within Worcestershire's schools and within Children’s, Families and Communities (including policy/procedural development).
  • Supporting, challenging and advising schools and within Children’s, Families and Communities on the WCC CSC levels of need guidance.
  • To lead, plan delivery of DSL training example: designated safeguarding lead and all Service Level Agreement SLA training for designated safeguarding leads in schools.
  • To undertake safeguarding audits on school premises.
  • Promoting, evidencing and monitoring best safeguarding practice for all children in education settings in Worcestershire in line with KCSIE 2025.
  • To support and attend the Head teacher safeguarding subgroup and attend the WCSP meetings when needed.
  • To facilitate networks local DSL meetings.
  • Any other tasks within the remit of your role.
