Colton Hills Community School is looking for a self‑motivated, hardworking and reliable person to join our friendly and welcoming admin team. This is a key role within the team, vital to the efficient day‑to‑day operation of the school and main reception. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and should be able to multi‑task and provide a timely, efficient and welcoming service for all customers.

37 hours per week – Term time only plus 10 days to be worked throughout the school holidays. We are offering a full‑time position, with flexibility to consider job share or part‑time arrangements for the right candidate. This role is currently temporary, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent based on performance and business needs. Annual full‑time salary: Grade 4 – LPP 7‑11, £26,403 – £28,142 pro rata. Actual commencing salary: £23,874.

Responsibilities:
  • Organise cover for absent classroom staff.
  • Operate a welcoming and efficient reception and switchboard service.
  • Provide general administrative support to the school.
  • Operate the school’s visitors and security system.
Requirements:
  • Experienced working in a fast‑paced office environment.
  • Display a professional attitude, drive and energy to support the Office Manager and administration team to make a difference in our good school.
  • Have good organisational skills, managing their own workload and that of the team.
  • Be a team player, with a sense of humour and excellent written, oral communication and ICT skills, preferably with knowledge of SIMS.
