The Role

As part of the EYFS provision, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff to deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole class, ensuring a calm and inclusive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging learning activities for individuals, small groups, and whole class.
  • Provide in‑the‑moment support during lessons to keep children focused and involved.
  • Supervise the whole class and deliver pre‑prepared activities during short‑term teacher absence.
  • Support the teacher with day‑to‑day organisation and classroom management, maintaining a positive and orderly environment.
  • Promote inclusion for all pupils, helping each child access learning and achieve their potential.
  • Play an active part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children with professionalism, care and integrity.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings warmth, energy, and a genuine commitment to helping children succeed.

The ideal candidate enjoys a busy primary setting, understands diverse learning styles, and is confident supporting pupils with a range of needs.

  • Experience working with relevant age groups in a learning environment, ideally with behavioural and learning difficulties.
  • Good understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities to support effective teaching.
  • Clear, kind, reassuring communication with children, teachers, parents and carers.
  • Willingness to respond thoughtfully to varied learning needs.
  • Experience collaborating with class teachers, SENCO and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing.
  • Experience supporting lesson delivery, working with individuals and groups, keeping pupils engaged.
  • Positive, proactive, flexible approach with desire to contribute to wider school life.
  • Df E‑recognised EYFS qualification (essential).

A Df E‑recognised EYFS qualification is essential.

An enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) clearance is required.

The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; fluency in spoken English is essential.

Grade 4 salary range £26,403 - £28,142 (pro‑ratio £19,796 - £21,970 per annum).
