The Role
This is an important role for someone who enjoys supporting children to succeed, both academically and personally. Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team, you will help to deliver engaging learning, provide tailored support where needed, and contribute to a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups or the whole class, helping to promote effective teaching and learning.
- Provide valuable support during lessons by helping children stay engaged, focused and ready to learn.
- Step in to supervise the whole class and deliver pre-prepared activities during short-term teacher absence, ensuring continuity and calm throughout the school day.
- Support the teacher with the day-to-day organisation and management of pupils and the classroom, contributing to a positive and orderly learning environment.
- Promote inclusion for all pupils, helping to ensure that every child has equal opportunities to learn, progress and achieve.
- Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children across the school, always acting with care, professionalism and integrity.
