About the Role

The role is a permanent Class Teacher and Careers Lead (Middle Leader) who will sit on the Wider Leadership Team, contributing to whole‑school improvement and strategic development. The post holder will design and deliver a high‑quality careers programme embedded across the curriculum and tailored to meet diverse pupil needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to design rich, cross‑curricular learning experiences.
  • Use subject knowledge (English, science, ICT) to connect and deepen learning.
  • Build strong, positive relationships that foster independence, confidence and a love of learning.
  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of the careers programme across the school.
  • Develop strong partnerships with employers, colleges, training providers and external agencies to support pupil independence, employability and preparation for adulthood.
  • Contribute to whole‑school improvement and strategic development as part of the Wider Leadership Team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Genuine passion for working with young people with special educational needs.
  • Reflective, resilient and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Shares values of inclusion, respect and unconditional positive regard.
  • Previous SEND experience is welcome but not essential.

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Penn Hall School, Vicarage Road, Wolverhampton, WV4 5HP
  • Grade: Teacher – Main Pay Range/Upper Pay Range dependent on experience + TLR + SEN Allowance
