Full Time (Hybrid), 9-Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: City of Wolverhampton Council, i9 building, Wolverhampton.

We are recruiting for a Regulatory Change Lead to join our Pension Operations Service area. The role involves providing technical leadership, regulatory oversight, and ensuring compliance across Pension Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of regulatory change across the Fund, ensuring new and updated LGPS regulations, legislation and industry guidance are effectively assessed, designed and embedded.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for regulatory change, ensuring compliance and technical accuracy across Pension Operations.
  • Conduct horizon scanning for legislative and regulatory developments and assess operational impact.
  • Lead delivery of key annual regulatory exercises, including Annual Benefit Statements, Pension Taxation and Pensions Increase.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on complex regulatory matters and set technical standards.
  • Provide regulatory and technical input into system developments and enhancements.
  • Ensure workflows, calculations, letters and system outputs remain compliant and robust.
  • Line manage and develop the Regulatory Analyst.
  • Promote a strong control environment and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Prepare management information, technical guidance and internal reporting.
  • Represent the Fund at relevant forums and support attendance at sub-committees and decision panels.

About You

You will be an experienced pensions professional with significant knowledge of LGPS regulations and overarching UK pensions legislation. You will have substantial experience applying LGPS regulations in practice and a strong background in regulatory technical compliance and change implementation.
