Regulatory Analyst – City of Wolverhampton Council
Full Time (Hybrid)
Grade 6 – Salary £36,363 – £40,777 per annum
Responsibilities
- Support day‑to‑day regulatory activities across the Fund.
- Interpret and apply LGPS regulations and related pensions legislation.
- Produce key reports and management information to enable timely and compliant processing of benefits.
- Support annual regulatory processes such as benefit statements, pension increases, and taxation requirements.
- Monitor and manage regulatory queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Analyse trends and identify areas for improvement in processes, training and compliance.
- Assist in regulatory change implementation by assessing impacts and contributing to business-wide adoption.
- Collaborate with internal teams, systems specialists and external suppliers to improve pension administration systems.
- Assist with compliance monitoring, testing and reporting to ensure statutory adherence.
- Support training and knowledge sharing to strengthen regulatory understanding across teams.
- Represent the Regulatory team in meetings and deputise for senior colleagues where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of pensions legislation, ideally within the LGPS.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations in a practical environment.
- Detail‑focused, organised and able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Proactive, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement.
- Experience with pension administration systems and performing or checking pension calculations is highly beneficial.
