Overview

City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for an Apprentice to promote and support the work and services of the Audit team.

Apprenticeship contract – 24 months, full‑time, 37 hours per week, flexible work style.

Salary: £25,747. Apprentices will complete the Level 4 Internal Audit apprenticeship standard – Internal Audit Technician / Skills England.

This apprenticeship will give you on‑the‑job training and the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours within audit, risk and assurance services.

Responsibilities

Support the Audit Team in delivering modern audit, risk and assurance related services, including counter‑fraud, across the Council and public sector client base.

Assist in audit tasks, data collection and analysis under the supervision of senior audit staff.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Commitment to completing apprenticeship training
  • At least the required grades in Maths and English (mandatory)
  • UK residency for the last three years (non‑UK nationals must meet this requirement)
  • Provision of an ENIC certificate if overseas qualifications are held
