WMPF is one of the UK’s largest pension funds, providing local‑authority pension benefits to employees across the West Midlands. We manage the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members and 800+ employers, with more than £21 billion in assets under management. We are recruiting a Lead Business Analyst for our Finance, Resourcing and Transformation Service area. Our new office in the i9 building, Wolverhampton, offers excellent transport links by car, bus, train and tram.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Analysts, including recent graduates.
- Assess and allocate tasks and projects to the team based on skills, capacity, and project requirements.
- Lead complex business analysis activities across multiple projects and cross‑functional areas.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to define business requirements, objectives, and scope.
- Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams and project managers, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project life‑cycle.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings and presentations, utilising strong communication skills to gather requirements, resolve conflicts and communicate project progress to diverse audiences.
About You
You will be an experienced Business Analyst with proven leadership skills, able to mentor and develop a team while delivering high‑quality analysis across complex projects. You have a solid understanding of business analysis methodologies such as Agile and SDLC, and you are confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels to translate business needs into clear, actionable solutions. Highly organised and detail‑focused, you bring strong communication, problem‑solving and influencing skills, ensuring successful outcomes that support the Fund’s objectives.
