Wolverhampton Homes Ltd is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Income Officer to join our Income Team. This is a rewarding role where you'll play a key part in helping customers sustain their tenancies, while ensuring rental income is collected effectively to support the delivery of essential housing services across the city.
No two days are the same. You'll work closely with customers to understand their circumstances, provide advice and support, agree sustainable payment arrangements and, where necessary, take appropriate recovery action. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships and making a positive difference in people's lives.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of rent accounts and taking proactive steps to maximise income collection.
- Working with customers to prevent and reduce rent arrears through early intervention and support.
- Negotiating realistic repayment arrangements and monitoring ongoing agreements.
- Maintaining accurate tenancy and income records in line with organisational procedures.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for customers.
- Taking appropriate recovery action in accordance with policies, procedures and statutory timescales.
About you:
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Can build positive relationships while demonstrating empathy, professionalism and resilience.
- Enjoys investigating issues, solving problems and identifying practical solutions.
- Can confidently manage a varied workload and prioritise competing demands.
- Has good administration and ICT skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Has a good standard of Maths and English.
