About the Role
West Park Primary School is a diverse and vibrant community school welcoming a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the professional work of teachers. The successful candidate will plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes, monitoring pupil progress and recording achievement.
Responsibilities
- Motivate and inspire students to reach their full potential
- Assess pupil needs and apply specialist skills to support learning
- Plan and deliver learning activities, including phonics instruction
- Support pupils at all levels and promote inclusive classroom practices
- Record and report pupils’ attainment, progress, and development
- Work collaboratively within a team to provide high‑quality services for pupils and families
Qualifications
- Professional standards for HLTA status or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualification
- Strong knowledge of the curriculum and a passion for supporting pupils with SEND
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent to Level 2 in English and Maths)
- Commitment to raising attainment, achievement, and progress
- Experience in teaching phonics and supporting inclusion in the classroom
