Work Style - Flexible: working from home with 2 days in a council location.

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a Fleet Transformation Officer to help shape the future of our fleet and transport operations.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading fleet decarbonisation and transformation projects.
  • Researching and evaluating alternative fuels, EVs and other low-emission technologies.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of the Council's Fleet Replacement Strategy.
  • Producing business cases, data analysis and recommendations to support investment decisions.
  • Working with operational services to understand fleet requirements and procure effective solutions.
  • Identifying funding opportunities, industry developments and emerging technologies.
  • Monitoring fuel usage, supporting audit readiness and improving operational efficiency.
  • Developing innovative approaches that enhance sustainability, value for money and service delivery.

About You

We are looking for someone who can combine technical knowledge with strategic thinking and project delivery skills. You will have:

  • Experience delivering change, improvement or transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of fleet, transport, engineering, sustainability or similar operational environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Experience developing business cases and supporting investment decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • An interest in low and zero-emission technologies, alternative fuels and environmental sustainability.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
