City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for an experienced and motivated Employability Skills and Training Manager to join our Adult Education service. You will lead the development and delivery of high-quality employability and skills programmes, supporting unemployed and economically inactive residents to progress into work. You will manage and support a team of teaching and support staff, driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment while ensuring strong outcomes for learners, including attendance, achievement and progression. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of partners across the public, private and voluntary sectors to develop responsive provision aligned to local labour market needs. The role also involves curriculum planning, quality improvement, performance management and contributing to Ofsted readiness and service development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of high-quality employability and skills programmes for adults.
- Manage and support a team of teaching and support staff, driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
- Ensure strong learner outcomes including attendance, achievement and progression.
- Work collaboratively with partners across public, private and voluntary sectors to align provision with local labour market needs.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement, performance management and Ofsted readiness.

- Salary - £44,075 - £49,282 (Grade 7); Hours: 37 per week; Contract: Full time - permanent; Work Style - Working from Adult Education Wolverhampton main site and across community venues.
