About The Role
Black Country Transport is seeking a Programme Management Office (PMO) Analyst to join its PMO team, supporting the planning, performance and governance of a complex programme of transport and infrastructure investment across the Black Country. The role offers exposure to high‑profile, cross‑authority projects and is well suited to someone with strong analytical and organisational skills who enjoys working with data, reports and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining performance dashboards and reports (including use of tools such as Verto)
- Analysing project and programme data to support planning, performance monitoring and decision‑making
- Tracking milestones, budgets, risks, benefits and cross‑project dependencies
- Supporting reporting and forward planning for Programme Board and assurance meetings
- Quality assuring reports and papers, including highlight reports, risk registers and decision papers
- Supporting due diligence and assurance of business cases prior to submission to governance boards
- Working with finance teams to track spend, forecasts and funding requirements
- Liaising with Legal, Procurement, Finance and ICT to support PMO systems and compliance with corporate processes
- Supporting continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates and ways of working
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting projects or programmes in a structured environment
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and reports
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience in a public sector or multi‑stakeholder environment
- Familiarity with project management or reporting tools
- Experience working with budgets, funding or governance processes
Salary £36,363 - £40,777 (Grade 6)
