The City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for an Apprentice to promote and support the work and services of the Revenue and Benefits team. The apprenticeship is a Level 4 Revenues and Welfare Benefits Practitioner Apprenticeship, with on‑the‑job training and recognised qualifications.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring we pay the right benefit to the right person at the right time.
- Collect the right amount from the right person and take effective recovery of debt owed to the Council.
- Administer accounts and advise customers on welfare benefits.
- Use various IT systems that support the efficient delivery of our services.
Qualifications and skills
- Excellent customer service, organisational skills and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Confidence and clarity in communication.
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship training.
- Ability to work in a busy team with a varied workload.
Eligibility
- Non‑UK nationals must have resided in the UK for the last three years.
- Previous qualifications in a similar area may be checked for eligibility.
- Maths and English qualifications obtained overseas require an ENIC certificate.
