Warwickshire County Council is seeking an ambitious planner looking to further their career and gain experience in a specialist area. Based in the historic county town of Warwick, the post holder will focus on processing major planning applications for minerals & waste proposals, EIA developments and the Council’s own strategic applications including transport infrastructure and schools.
The role offers a unique opportunity to handle a varied caseload which would include EIA screening/scoping opinions, providing pre‑application advice, conducting site visits, negotiating with applicants, advising internal departments and liaising with the general public, operators and elected Members. The post involves travel around Warwickshire and occasional attendance of evening meetings outside of normal office hours, so the ability to travel effectively is essential.
You will be working in a small friendly professional team and must be a graduate in Town Planning with post‑qualification experience in development management and be eligible for full membership of the RTPI.
