Warwickshire County Council is looking for Public Health Service Managers (Public Health) for 2 roles. Location: Shire Hall, Warwick, alternative WCC office locations including Nuneaton, and agile working.

This is an exciting and challenging time to work in Public Health as we work across our system to deliver our health and wellbeing ambitions. Our vision is to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of people living and working in Warwickshire and to reduce inequalities.

We are a 40-strong team of friendly, committed and inclusive people with a collaborative approach to getting things done. We work with partners within the council as well as those outside, spanning the public, community and private sectors.

We are looking for solution-focused, knowledgeable individuals with a flair for building relationships to join our team to drive the delivery of complex public health and partnership programmes, projects and strategies that contribute to improving the health of people living in the area. There are 2 roles available: 1) children and young people; 2) workforce health, wellbeing and skills. Both share responsibility for mental health.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree level education and/or significant experience in a discipline relevant to public health.
  • Knowledge of public health services, policy, and legislation and ability to influence partners within the local system.
  • Experience of partnership working across different sectors with strong relationship building skills with stakeholders at local, regional and national levels.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, with excellent programme management skills and commitment to tackling health inequalities through systemic change.
  • Confidence and resilience to hold difficult and challenging conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Qualifications or substantial experience in the focused areas of children and young people, employment and skills and mental health are particularly welcomed.
