Warwickshire County Council is recruiting an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join the Ethnic Minorities and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS), supporting pupils from Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities.

Working hours: Full Time, 5 days per week (37 hours)

We are looking for experienced mainstream practitioners with the ability to be skilled, organised, and flexible in a high‑pressure environment, and who can support vulnerable learners from Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities and/or those who are Electively Home Educated.

Key Requirements

  • An experienced Teaching Assistant, educated to the equivalent of NVQ level 3
  • Proven recent success supporting children in a mainstream setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of the barriers to learning faced by vulnerable pupils and how to facilitate independent learning and achievement
  • The ability to be part of the ‘team around the child’, working flexibly, developing and sharing creative and innovative approaches to reach hard‑to‑engage learners and positively influence the practice of others
  • Up‑to‑date understanding of current educational and multi‑cultural issues affecting schools, pupils, their families and communities
