Warwickshire County Council is seeking to enhance its Public Health team as it works towards delivering Health and Wellbeing ambitions. The focus is on improving and protecting the health of Warwickshire’s residents and reducing avoidable inequalities in health outcomes. This role offers a genuine opportunity to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
The team is dynamic, supportive, and solution-focused, building on strong, established partnerships. Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS), public health commissioners, mental health commissioning leads, and colleagues across the Children and Young People and Education teams.
- Collaborating with colleagues in Coventry on the suicide prevention agenda.
- Leading on the Children and Young People (CYP) agenda, providing specialist public health expertise to commissioners for the newly recommissioned 0–19 service.
- Contributing to specific CYP workstreams and working closely with the portfolio holder for children and young people to drive delivery of CYP priorities within the Council’s delivery plan.
- Overseeing the mental health portfolio, working alongside commissioners for public health‑funded mental health services and partnering with Coventry City Council to deliver a joint suicide prevention programme.
- Providing public health leadership and technical expertise to South Place, acting as the Public Health lead and collaborating with district and borough councils across the south of the county.
