About The Team

Warwickshire County Council’s Business Support Service provides high-quality, professional support to teams across the organization, playing a vital role in ensuring services run smoothly and effectively. About The Role

Join our Early Careers offer as an apprentice and take the first exciting step in building a professional career within a supportive and dynamic environment. This role offers hands‑on experience across a wide range of business functions, from coordinating work experience placements and supporting recruitment events in schools and colleges, to assisting with meetings, conferences, and team activities. You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by producing documents, managing data, supporting customer enquiries, and helping with essential administrative and finance processes. Collaborating closely with experienced colleagues, you’ll gain valuable exposure to how a busy office operates while making a real contribution to meaningful programmes that support future talent. Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll develop strong communication and customer‑service skills, build confidence working with IT systems and business tools, and learn how to prioritise tasks effectively in a professional setting. You’ll be encouraged to take initiative, contribute ideas for improving processes, and collaborate with a diverse team committed to delivering high‑quality service. Key Requirements

  • No prior experience is required – we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning new skills, committed to delivering excellent service, and eager to be part of a collaborative team.
  • You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to organise your workload, manage priorities effectively, and use standard IT applications such as Microsoft Office and email.
  • As the role involves attending careers events across Warwickshire, the ability to travel reliably is essential.

Apprenticeship Information

This position is aligned with the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship, delivered by Heart of England Training. Upon completion of this apprenticeship, the postholder will progress to a permanent Business Support Officer role.

The Fluency Duty is outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers. The Fluency Duty for this role is Required. You must be able to speak and provide advice in accurate spoken English to the public.
