The Headteacher at Rivers Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated Teaching Assistant (with SEN experience). This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with and support our children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have the tools and environment to thrive.
Responsibilities of the post:
- The Teaching Assistant will work as an integral part of the team to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing, with a primary focus on working closely with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- The role will involve supporting pupils across their learning environment, in small groups and, where appropriate, on a 1:1 basis to help them access the curriculum, overcome barriers to learning, and make good progress.
Key Requirements:
- Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a related area (Childcare, Education, or Specialist SEN support)
- Excellent Behaviour Management skills, with a gentle, patient, and consistent approach
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external educational/healthcare professionals
- Highly organised and able to work efficiently in a dynamic environment
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and a true team player who is well-motivated to make a difference
- Good ICT skills to support learning and maintain necessary records
