Teaching Assistant – Level 2 (Shepwell Satellite)

Do you have the motivation, patience and skills to work with young people with complex needs, including mental health difficulties, autism and ADHD, to help them overcome the challenges they face and enable them to achieve their potential?

We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support our young people in achieving positive educational and personal outcomes.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide high‑quality classroom and pastoral support, helping pupils to engage in learning, develop confidence and build the skills they need to succeed.

You will support across a range of curriculum areas, helping with both academic progress and the social and emotional development of our students.

As a main staff member at our satellite provision, you will create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment, adapt resources to meet individual needs, supervise pupils during lunchtimes and may be required to work at the main site to support operational needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity, including autism, ADHD and the mental health challenges faced by young people.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and helping them overcome barriers to education.
• The ability to build positive, trusting and respectful relationships with young people.
• Experience of supporting pupils with a range of learning, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Confidence in adapting learning activities and using a variety of strategies to engage and motivate learners.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, working effectively with teachers, families and external agencies.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities within a busy school environment.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach, particularly when supporting pupils experiencing emotional distress or dysregulation.
• A commitment to promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and high aspirations for every student.
• Competence in using ICT to support learning and administrative tasks, with a willingness to develop new skills where required.
• A willingness to contribute to wider school life and to go above and beyond in supporting the success and wellbeing of our students.
