Watmos Community Homes is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to lead our Building Compliance and Resident Safety function, ensuring our homes remain safe, compliant and aligned with all regulatory requirements. In this pivotal role, the focus will be on leading and developing a high-performing team, overseeing all statutory compliance activity, and driving the implementation of our refreshed safety strategy.
Key responsibilities include managing critical areas such as:
- Fire safety
- Gas and electrical compliance
- Asbestos
- Water management
- Lifting equipment
- Wider building safety obligations
Championing the ‘golden thread’ of information will be essential to ensure accurate data underpins risk management, reporting, and investment planning. Through collaboration with colleagues, residents, contractors, and regulators, you will strengthen contract management arrangements, support service improvement, and maintain Building Safety Cases, Resident Engagement Plans, and compliance documentation to the highest standard.
As a senior leader, the role involves modelling our values, managing budgets effectively, and contributing to strategic planning across the organisation. We are looking for someone with strong sector experience, excellent knowledge of building safety legislation, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence, engage and lead confidently. A relevant degree, relevant professional qualifications, and health and safety training are highly desirable.
