Location: Queen Mary's Grammar School, Walsall, part of the Mercian Trust.

Job Type: Casual role (as and when required), part-time.

Salary: £14.13 per hour (plus holiday pay).

Job Summary: We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated PE Cover Supervisor to join our collaborative and supportive PE team. The ideal candidate will be required to deliver extra-curricular sessions including Games afternoons and accompany fixtures under the guidance of the Head of PE. Successful candidates will be expected to implement programmed sessions with students in the activity spaces of the PE department. It is important that the ideal candidate is able to work constructively as part of the PE team, understanding roles and responsibilities and their position within these.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver extra-curricular sessions including Games afternoons and accompany fixtures.
  • Implement programmed sessions with students in the activity spaces of the PE department.
  • Work constructively as part of the PE team, understanding roles and responsibilities and position within the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience of working within a sports coaching role or having played sport to a high club level.
  • Some experience of working within a school context is desirable.
  • Ability to be flexible, use initiative, keep calm under pressure and handle unexpected circumstances.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, familiarity with ICT, and ability to support learning.
  • Ability to deal with colleagues and students in an appropriate manner.
