Are you looking to make a difference in a school environment and have valuable classroom experience? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our team and support teaching and learning across the school.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for delivering pre-set lessons during the short-term absence of the class teacher. You will help maintain a positive and productive learning environment by supervising students, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting pupils in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task.
- Support pupils in completing set work and clarify instructions where needed.
- Promote a positive learning atmosphere and manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
- Provide feedback to students regarding progress and achievement.
- Report back to teaching staff on student behaviour, progress, and any concerns.
- Support students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and foster inclusion in the classroom.
- Assist in maintaining accurate attendance and behaviour records.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong classroom presence and the ability to act as a positive role model.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage behaviour confidently and effectively.
- Flexibility and a proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working with young people or in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
