This role sits within the Business and Executive Support team where you will play a key role in ensuring a consistent high level of business support across the organisation. The position is based at the Uttoxeter office and supports a number of teams within the Children and Families Service across East Staffordshire. The role is varied and requires adaptability to changing demands. Post type: Fixed‑term 12 months.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for practitioners, providing a professional and knowledgeable response to enquiries from children, families, partners, and stakeholders in a timely manner, including occasional customer service tasks.
- Complete a range of administrative tasks, including creating documents, supporting meetings, and coordinating circulation of agendas and relevant papers.
- Accurately input and maintain information in appropriate systems.
- Undertake financial transactions such as placing orders for services or equipment, receiving goods, and maintaining records.
- Provide advice and guidance to practitioners on the use of IT and related software, including basic induction into systems and processes.
- Show flexibility to address business needs, including transferring to alternative teams within the service following consultation.
Ideal Candidate
- Have GCSE English and Maths at grade C or 4 or equivalent.
- Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills at all levels, liaising with a range of professionals and members of the public.
- Be able to accurately input and retrieve data to support performance management.
- Have a flexible approach and respond positively to changes in allocation of work at short notice.
- Possess excellent time‑management and organisational skills, working under pressure to meet deadlines and on own initiative.
- Be comfortable working within a team and advising other staff on IT‑related issues.
- Have good numerical skills and attention to detail.
