We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join the Urgent Care Team at Worcester Royal Hospital. The Urgent Care Team is based at both Worcester Royal Hospital and the Alexandra Hospital and operates a 7‑day service to support complex discharges. There is potential to work weekends, bank holidays and additional pay is available for bank holiday and Sunday working.

We offer a hybrid way of working that balances time in the office and working at home to support your work‑life balance. The role will involve working with people who are over the age of 18, including those with dementia, physical disabilities, mental health diagnoses, mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism, to enable safe and timely transfer of care from an acute hospital setting.

The successful candidate will need to work at a fast pace, be proactive and have strong communication skills. The team adopts a strength‑based approach with an emphasis on Home First, ensures a focus on adult safeguarding and mental capacity, and works closely with health colleagues to ensure safe and timely discharges. This is an experienced and supportive team where you can develop your career. We offer regular supervision and reflection to develop practice and skills.
