Birmingham is changing and fast! The city is booming as it sees billions of pounds of investment in major development and infrastructure projects. We are looking for a Transport Planning Manager to join our team to help shape the future of our city.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated transport planner to join an exceptional transport planning team to support delivery of the ambitious and transformational Birmingham Transport Plan. Resource is required at a senior level to drive forward key projects and programmes, and we are looking for an individual with a range of expertise including:
- Transportation policy and strategy development
- Business cases and modelling
- Scheme development
- Transport programme management and bidding
Reporting directly into the Head of Transport Planning, you will support the development, management and delivery of an extensive transportation investment programme. Birmingham is in a period of unprecedented development. Good transport, and transport planning, is a cornerstone for our future success. The demand for specialist transport planning into transport policies and masterplans is greater than ever, alongside the identification, specification and development of transport infrastructure.
Key Requirements:
- You will possess extensive knowledge and understanding of transport and land use planning policies within a local government context including developing transport policies, strategies, plans and monitoring reports; preparation of transport funding bids, applications and grant submissions; Transport Assessments; and transport appraisal processes.
Skills And Experience:
- You will have significant experience of multi-disciplinary project working, budget and programme development and monitoring, preparing funding bids, and working with elected Members and stakeholders, as well as having strong communication, partnership working and project management skills.
