The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Telford & Wrekin Council is creating this new role to strengthen the Council’s work on specified accommodation and to provide additional specialist capacity within our Benefits and Financial Welfare service. It is a 37 hours per week position for a fixed term of three years.

The postholder will:

  • Assess and review Housing Benefit claims for specified accommodation.
  • Carefully analyse rent and service charge submissions.
  • Work constructively with providers to ensure charges are clear, evidence-based and represent value for money.
  • Represent the Benefits and Financial Welfare service at provider panel meetings, supporting positive and professional dialogue with providers and internal colleagues to help achieve fair, transparent and sustainable outcomes.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong benefits knowledge, sound analytical skills and experience of complex casework to take on a specialist role in a high-profile area of work.
