This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council’s Care Provider Quality Assurance Team. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to work reactively and proactively to ensure the quality of the social care services we purchase meet the contract requirements. You will undertake quality assurance for services delivering care to vulnerable children and adults. Balancing a number of factors in order to make decisions on the welfare and safety of vulnerable people, you will be a resilient, self‑motivated individual with attention to detail and will use your organisational and inter‑personal skills and knowledge of social care provider services.

Working independently, you will address challenging and complex issues in external service provision and negotiate with and manage providers to ensure providers deliver both best value for money and effective services. The role also involves collating data in relation to provision of services for children and young people, so accuracy of data is key. Your understanding of the Council’s cost challenges, operating processes and legislation around both adults and children’s social care ensures our providers are supporting them to meet their outcomes and enabling them to live well and thrive. Focusing on continuous improvement methodologies, you will work closely with Social Care teams, commissioners, partners and wider Council teams to ensure commissioned services are fit for purpose and meet people’s needs.

Key Requirements

As a resilient, outcomes driven team player, your excellent communication skills will be invaluable to ensure that the commissioned services meet quality standards. In addition, Council colleagues and key stakeholders will look to you as a reliable informative member of the team who can organise themselves well. It is essential that your personal statement shows how your experience and personal skills meet the person specification and explains why you are the best candidate for this post.

Roles involving children or vulnerable adults will require a criminal records check. It’s an offence to apply if you’re barred from working with these groups.
