Telford & Wrekin Council is looking for Passenger Assistants who are passionate about supporting others and making a positive impact in their local community. In this rewarding role, you will help provide specialist transport services for a wide range of passengers, including children with special educational needs, adults with disabilities, social care clients, and members of the public accessing bespoke transport services.
This is a varied and engaging role where no two days are the same. You will work with a dynamic range of people, building positive relationships with passengers, families, carers, drivers, schools, and care providers, while ensuring every journey is safe, comfortable, and dignified. Working alongside a driver as part of a dedicated team, Passenger Assistants play a vital role in supporting clients throughout their journey and providing reassurance to both passengers and their families.
The role usually operates on a split-shift basis, typically:
- Morning shift: 7:15am – 9:30am
- Afternoon shift: 2:30pm – 4:15pm
