We are seeking an organised, proactive and highly professional individual to provide comprehensive, confidential and high-quality executive support to the Vice Principal of Telford 6th. This is a key role in supporting the effective leadership and strategic management of Telford College’s Sixth Form provision.

Working closely with the Vice Principal, you will act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring priorities, communications, meetings and projects are coordinated effectively and efficiently. You will provide strategic administrative and project support, contributing to the planning, coordination and delivery of key Sixth Form priorities and improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important role in enabling the Vice Principal to focus on strategic leadership, while ensuring the smooth and effective management of day-to-day priorities and longer-term projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the Vice Principal Telford 6th
  • Manage a complex diary, prioritising meetings, events and deadlines
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, preparing agendas, reports, presentations and supporting documentation
  • Support the Vice Principal in preparing documentation for Corporation Board, committee and senior leadership meetings
  • Attend meetings as required, taking accurate minutes and maintaining records of decisions
  • Maintain action trackers arising from meetings and strategic projects, proactively monitoring progress and following up agreed actions with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor telephone calls, emails and correspondence, responding, prioritising and escalating appropriately
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/carers, staff, governors, employers, universities and external partners on behalf of the Vice Principal
  • Coordinate communications and information flow across Sixth Form, Executive Team and wider College, ensuring stakeholders receive timely and accurate information
  • Process expenses, purchase orders, travel arrangements and invoices for the Vice Principal Telford 6th
  • Draft, proofread and format professional documents, presentations and correspondence
  • Produce high-quality reports, briefing papers and presentations for internal and external audiences, ensuring accuracy, consistency and professionalism
  • Manage confidential documents and sensitive strategic information with discretion
  • Maintain filing systems in line with organisational procedures, ensuring version control and information governance compliance
  • Support recruitment processes and onboarding activities for the directorate where required
Skills & Expertise
  • Significant experience (within the last 3 years) of carrying out a personal administrator role at a senior executive level, within a busy office environment
  • Relevant experience of communication with senior stakeholders within the education sector
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing demands effectively
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Proven ability to act on own initiative, anticipating needs and resolving issues proactively with minimal supervision
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools
Qualifications & Training
  • Level 2 Qualification (GCSE A*-C or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Level 5 Management/Business Administration qualification
