We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Education Welfare Officer (EWO) to our successful Attendance & Welfare Team. Based as part of our LCT Central Team, you will work as one of the Trust Education Welfare Officers and play a key role in improving school attendance and reducing persistent and severe absence, identifying (and signposting to) appropriate support services for children, young people and their families, ensuring children within the borough are accessing their entitlement to educational provision. This is an exciting opportunity to join a Trust that puts children at the heart of everything it does. You will work directly with school leaders, pupils and families, delivering targeted interventions, undertaking home visits and providing specialist attendance advice that makes a genuine difference to the lives of young people. You will be able to communicate effectively with young people, their families and internal and external colleagues, developing good relationships and partnerships with others.

Relevant qualifications relating to Education Welfare or social work, and experience working within the school setting, that covers a majority of the job description is desirable, however training will be provided in development areas. The successful candidate will share our commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind and will be motivated by improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families. We are a small, friendly and supportive team and having the right person with the right values is as important to us as previous experience.
