We are looking for a
Private Sector Housing Business Support Officer to join our Private Sector Housing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting services that help improve housing standards and protect residents across the borough.
About The Role
As a Business Support Officer, you will be at the heart of the service, providing high-quality administrative and business support to a team of specialist housing professionals.
You will be the first point of contact for many customers and partners, helping to ensure enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
- Managing enquiries from tenants, landlords, residents and partner organisations.
- Triaging and prioritising service requests.
- Processing and administering House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licence applications.
- Maintaining accurate records and databases, including the Tascomi system.
- Producing reports and performance information.
- Coordinating meetings, managing diaries and taking minutes.
- Processing invoices, payments and financial transactions.
- Supporting the management of complaints, Freedom of Information requests and member enquiries.
- Maintaining team inboxes, website content and social media updates.
- Providing excellent customer service and signposting customers to appropriate officers when required.
What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements
- Five GCSEs including English and Maths.
- An NVQ Level 3 in Business Studies (or equivalent qualification)
- Significant experience working in an administrative or office-based environment.
- Experience dealing with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
- Experience working to deadlines in a busy environment.
- Experience supporting projects and financial processes.
