Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking tutors for adult and community learning. We want teachers passionate about subjects such as English, maths, employability and digital skills/IT. Experience in accredited functional skills courses is a distinct advantage but not required.

As a tutor you will teach functional skills courses in community venues across the borough of Telford and Wrekin. Courses vary from a few weeks to a full academic year and may lead to a qualification. Core responsibilities include developing learner confidence and preparing them for higher-level courses such as Access to Higher Education and other level 3 courses. Hours are variable: some tutors teach one session per week, while others work near full-time depending on subject demand.

  • Experience teaching adults or children

Remuneration and Conditions:

The hourly rate is Β£25.75‑£27.80, plus 20% for planning and preparation time, plus annual leave and assessment hours.
