The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to support groups of pupils and/or individuals with their learning.
The successful applicants will have very high expectations in terms of supporting pupils in order for them to reach their true potential. You will work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
The hours will be 8.30am – 3.30pm Tuesday and Wednesday including half hour lunchtime duty term time only.
Responsibilities include:
- Respond quickly to taking over the management of a whole class within an agreed key stage
- Support pupils to complete the planned activities
- Report back any issues to staff and parents
- Implementing the school’s behaviour policy to support the pupils
- Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on the pupil’s progress and achievement
- Establish supportive relationships with the pupils
