Overview
Warwickshire County Council is recruiting for a Teacher of Bassoon & Oboe for Warwickshire Music, the principal provider of music education in Warwickshire.
Instrumental Salary Range: £19,202 F.T.E (£21.16 p/hr) to £28,678 F.T.E (£31.60 p/hr) (pay award pending), 33 weeks delivery.
Warwickshire Music is a Collaborative Lead Organisation of the Heart of England Music Hub. We teach over 11,000 pupils each week and provide instrumental, vocal and class music teaching in schools and community settings, with ensembles and music groups for children and young people across Warwickshire.
About The Role
We require an enthusiastic teacher of Bassoon & Oboe to join our team to teach pupils from beginner to advanced level in small group and individual lesson settings. Initially teaching for up to 3 hrs per week on Mondays in a Stratford-upon-Avon school, with potential to grow this teaching over time.
Responsibilities
- Teach Bassoon and Oboe to pupils from beginner to advanced level in small groups and one-to-one settings.
- Contribute to the instrumental teaching programme, with opportunities for professional development, particularly in group and whole-class teaching practice.
- Work within Warwickshire Music and with partner schools to support pupil development and safeguarding of children and young people.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Be a committed, enthusiastic musician and teacher capable of inspiring pupils and communicating with clarity and sensitivity.
- Be organised, skilled and confident in the use of technology; receptive to new ideas and committed to professional development.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team of professionals dedicated to musical development and safeguarding.
- Knowledge of teaching more than one instrumental discipline is desirable but not essential.
Teacher Pay and Benefits
- Hourly rates ranging from £21.16 to £31.60 per hour (pay award pending) for group, individual and ensemble teaching.
- Pay is annualised and paid as a monthly salary; teaching hours may vary with demand.
- Travel expenses between schools are paid, and membership of the Teacher Pension Scheme is available.
