Birmingham City Council is seeking inspiring and flexible sessional tutors to help deliver a ground‑breaking £1 million Community Learning Growth Programme. This initiative is dedicated to supporting economically inactive adults across Birmingham into employment, further learning, volunteering, and civic participation—through hyper‑local, high‑impact and creatively designed learning experiences.

As we expand our curriculum, we are placing a powerful emphasis on creative media, digital fluency and future‑facing skills—equipping adults not just to access work, but to thrive in a modern, connected economy. About the role

Sessional Tutors will be central to the delivery of six bold intervention strands that tackle systemic barriers to learning and employment through creative and community‑rooted learning models. You will work under the direction of Programme Managers and contribute to one or more of the following strands: Foundational Literacy.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK that does not require employer sponsorship for the duration of the appointment. Proof of right to work in the UK will be required for all applicants in accordance with UK Home Office requirements, before any employment offer can be confirmed. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be undertaken.
