Stoneydelph Primary School Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Lunchtime Supervisor/OPAL play team member to join our friendly and talented team.

Hours: 5 hours per week, term time only, permanent contract – Monday – Friday 12pm – 1pm.

Salary: Grade 2 Point 2-3 (FTE £24,413 - £24,796 per annum) = (Pro Rata salary £2,863 to £2,908 per annum)

We promote an inclusive atmosphere and are looking for a new team member who is kind, caring and nurturing to our pupils. This role is primarily to ensure safe and happy lunchtimes with a focus on positive play opportunities for pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To supervise, care for, and play with the children both indoors and outdoors during lunchtimes.
  • Promote good behaviour and polite table manners in the dining hall and around the school.
  • Assist children in the dining hall and tidy all areas during and following lunch.
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of lunchtime activities.
  • Work with children aged 4-11 playing fun activities and games and organise necessary equipment.
  • Assist the school in establishing an exciting, purposeful and safe lunchtime environment, which enables children to feel secure and happy.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils by being friendly and approachable and prioritise their well-being and welfare during lunchtimes.
  • Encourage excellent lunchtime behaviour and address incidents by following the Behaviour and Relationships policy.
  • Work co-operatively alongside other members of the lunchtime team and wider school staff.
  • Encourage and provide positive play opportunities for pupils (OPAL).

Qualifications & qualities required:

  • Knowledge or experience of working with children.
  • A friendly, caring, and kind nature.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Initiative and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to speak fluent English – essential requirement under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
